It speaks to me now.
In whispers and dull tones,
the longing in ripples and folds.
Surges and falls.
Each passing fragment
is blistered with yearning,
it echoes around as your pulse.
It's a joke.
This translation inadequate,
each word I have spoken
can never quite mean what it should.
Hemorrhging love.
The beauty got lost
to this dumb clunk of nothing
that emanates now from my tongue.
I got it all wrong.
It coarses the blood.
I'd pierce every organ to puncture the sound if I could.
Could we leave it to God
to reveal himself now in the words you can't find
there is love.
You got it all wrong.
Cover your eyes,
for I'm blind in this daylight
with mirrors encircling me.
I didn't want you to see.
Here comes the descent.
as my spine turns to glass
and each line that is cast
leads to no one.
They come undone again.
Words aren't enough
to bridge this disparity,
will it always be echoes and rust,
dusk to dusk?
As I'm pulled underneath
will I drown in the light
that I've so longed to see?
Will it guide me
when I'm lost?
